The 22 teams of seven riders each, who will battle in the eight scheduled stages, have announced their entries with big names expected to start from Brescia. Top of the list are Lotte Kopecky, world champion and protagonist of an amazing first half of the season with victories at the UAE Tour Women, Strade Bianche Women Elite, Paris-Roubaix, Tour of Britain and national championships, and Elisa Longo Borghini, winner for the second time in her career of the Ronde Van Vlaanderen and recently crowned national champion for the fifth time. The list of contenders for the Maglia Rosa is long and includes most of the athletes who placed in the top 10 of the 2023 edition, including Juliette Labous (2nd), Gaia Realini (3rd and Maglia Bianca), Erica Magnaldi (5th), Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig (6th), and Mavi Garcia (7th). There is also great expectation for Neve Bradbury, runner-up at both the UAE Tour Women and the Tour de Suisse, and one of the main contenders for the Maglia Bianca, where she will have to face, among the others, the cyclocross world champion Fem Van Empel.
There are also many pretenders to the stage victories, starting with Elisa Balsamo, world champion in 2021 and winner of two stages in 2022, Chiara Consonni, stage winner in 2022 and 2023, and Liane Lippert, recently second at the national championships. Other riders to follow are Lizzie Deignan, Lucinda Brand, Blanka Kata Vas, Arlenis Sierra, Chantal van den Broek-Blaak, Silvia Persico, Vittoria Guazzini, Anna Kiesenhofer and Ane Santesteban.
