Lotte Kopecky (Team SD Worx – Protime) has won Stage 5 of the Giro d’Italia Women, the 108km long Frontone-Foligno. Chiara Consonni (UAE Team ADQ) and Arlenis Sierra (Movistar Team) finished second and third respectively.
Elisa Longo Borghini (Lidl – Trek) retains the Maglia Rosa.
Speaking seconds after the stage finish, the stage winner Lotte Kopecky said: “I had a lot of good results in the first stages but I missed the winning feeling. I finally made it! My team mates did an amazing job and did a great lead out, probably one of the best one ever. I am so happy and I look forward to the next stages”.
